Bleaching

Although our teeth are composed of a hard enamel, over time they become stained by smoking, drinking coffee and soda and eating certain foods. The bright white teeth we had as children become gray and discolored through the years. You can regain that youthful look, using a bleaching technique that can restore your teeth to their natural shade. Bleaching is safe, inexpensive and requires no anesthetic. This process can be done at home during the evening or while you sleep.

The process is simple. Using impressions of your upper and lower teeth, your dentist makes custom trays of thin plastic that fit snugly over your teeth. A bleaching kit supplied by your dentist contains bleaching gel which is applied to the inside of each tray. The trays are generally worn every other night. Treatment time ranges from several days to several weeks, depending on the severity of your staining.
